D.M.G. Inc. was a Philippine company that operated as the local importer and assembler of Volkswagen vehicles, based first in Manila from 1974 and later in Quezon City from around 1979 until approximately 1982.
Beyond its assembly work for Volkswagen, D.M.G. also developed two locally produced special models. The first was the Toro, a coupé with an attractive design that made use of Beetle mechanicals. Prototypes of a related metal-bodied estate version with two or three seats were built in 1978, although it appears this model never reached production.
The second model was the Sakbayan, a utility or jeep-type vehicle also based on the Volkswagen Beetle chassis. This design originated in Australia and featured steel bodywork, offered with either a soft or hard top.
