Atalanta Motors Ltd was a British automobile manufacturer based in Staines, Middlesex, that operated from 1937 to 1939. The company was primarily backed by Peter Whitehead, a notable figure in the automotive industry, and engine designer Albert Gough, who developed the engines that powered Atalanta vehicles. The company produced a limited number of cars, making it one of the last British marques to emerge before the onset of World War II.

Atalanta vehicles were equipped with Gough's single overhead camshaft (SOHC) four-cylinder engines, which came in two displacements: 1496 cc producing 78 bhp and 1996 cc generating 98 bhp. An optional Centric supercharger was available for enhanced performance. The cars featured a robust X-braced channel chassis with tubular cross members and independent coil suspension at all four corners, with horizontally mounted tear coils. Transmission options included a 3-speed dual overdrive Warner gearbox or a 4-speed Cotai gearbox.

The Atalanta lineup included attractive two-seater drophead coupés and roadsters, the latter characterized by cycle-type wings. In 1938, the company expanded its offerings to include a 4387 cc Lincoln Zephyr V12 engine, which was fitted into a lengthened chassis to accommodate four-seater sports saloon bodies, also produced by Abbott. Despite the increased power of the V12 models, the pricing remained competitive, with the most expensive two-litre model costing only slightly more than the V12 saloon.

Ultimately, production of Atalanta cars was limited to no more than 20 units. Following its brief existence as a car manufacturer, the company transitioned to Atalanta Pumps and later became Atalanta Engineering Ltd, relocating from Staines to Chertsey, where it remained active until at least 1993.
