The Electric Motive Power Company, based in Balham, London, operated from 1897 to 1900. The company specialized in converting horse-drawn vehicles to electric power, marking an early foray into electric transportation. Its initial project involved a double-decker bus, which was tested in Liverpool in 1894.

In 1897, the company produced a four-seater victoria equipped with a 2-horsepower motor, followed by a 5-horsepower dog-cart and a 2-horsepower three-wheeler. Despite exhibiting its vehicles at various shows, the company's efforts remained largely experimental, resulting in limited public sales. The Electric Motive Power Company contributed to the early development of electric vehicles, although it did not achieve significant commercial success.
