Fontauto SNC was an Italian automotive manufacturer based in S. Dalmazzo, Cuneo, that operated briefly from 1971 to 1972. The company was established by the Italian importer of Volkswagen, aiming to create a unique vehicle that diverged from the typical beach buggy designs prevalent at the time.

The most notable product from Fontauto was the Fontauto Hobbycar, which was unveiled at the 1971 Turin Show. This vehicle was based on the Volkswagen Beetle platform and featured new mechanical components from the Beetle, showcasing a design that emphasized fun and versatility. The Hobbycar distinguished itself with a style that set it apart from other similar vehicles in the market.

Although Fontauto ceased production of the Hobbycar after a short period, the company continued to operate as a carrozzeria, indicating its ongoing involvement in the automotive industry beyond vehicle manufacturing.
