Chevron

Chevron Engineering was a manufacturer based in Auckland, New Zealand, known for producing clubman-type vehicles. Founded by Evan Fray, the company utilized a unique design that incorporated the front suspension and rear axle from the Vauxhall Viva, mounted on a robust ladder frame constructed from 38mm diameter tubing.

The vehicles produced by Chevron were notable for their versatility in engine options, accommodating a wide range of powertrains. These included smaller engines such as the 1,600cc Ford or Toyota, as well as larger options like the 4.4-litre Leyland Australia and 5-litre Ford V8 engines. This adaptability contributed to the popularity of Chevron's clubman vehicles among enthusiasts.

By 1996, Chevron had produced a total of 218 vehicles, with some examples being exported to markets in Australia, New Guinea, and Japan. The brand's commitment to engineering and performance left a mark on the clubman racing scene in New Zealand.
