Prato Orage - thunderstorm from France

Dec 13, 2017

The name Prato Automobiles may not be very familiar for most of you. Not surprisingly, since this new French company was established in 2011 and it was developing a super sportscar quite secretly since then. Their first model – Orage - debuted this year at Le Mans on June 14. What is this new machine?

It is a thunderstorm. This is what “orage” stands for in French. Prato model is a brainchild of a tandem of an independent car designer and a mechanical engineer - Bruno Prata and Rodolphe Tousset. It has been created with a clear vison in mind – “going to the raw basics”. What that really means? According to Prato Automobiles, it is “a unique dynamic look, thundering vocals and fearless driving pleasure, resulting in pure passion”. The final result is a truly unique and exotic automobile!

The Orage both features distinctive design and super high performance. Moreover, the car brings three world premieres! Firstly, it has world’s most powerful naturally aspirated V8 engine mounted in a production car. Orage’s engine develops 900hp and 1044 Nm! Secondly, it is the first car in the world to use full OLED technology for its optics. Thirdly, it is the first automobile to use aerospace electronics with sterling 24 carat gold connectors.

The new French hypercar will surely guarantee exciting moments for its owner. The ultimate driving mode is named “Go Baby Go” and it is activated by flicking the switch. This opens full potential of the car which uses 650hp in sport mode to full power of 900 horses! This enables the car to accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and to achieve a top speed of 370 km/h. A lot of fun, obviously!

High performance of the Orage is equally matched to a nice attention to details both outside and inside. The cockpit is trimmed in luxury high-end materials such as carbon fiber, leather, aluminum. In addition to that, customers can also select to use silver, gold or even platinum to decorate their individual models. Prato Automobiles indeed gives a nice chance to personalize and customize the car. A special extra to increase exclusivity even more is a result of just recently announced partnership with luxury watch manufacturer Ateliers deMonaco. This company will produce a strictly limited edition Tourbillon Oculus 1297 ORAGE watch for each owner of the vehicle. Car’s chassis number will be carved on the watch dial of this unique timepiece which will also serve as a key.

Prato Automobiles recently showcased their model at Dubai Motor Show and announced that the car is limited to only 19 examples each one costing 850.000 euro (excl. VAT). Deliveries are expected to start at the autumn of 2018. This should put big smiles on faces of those lucky nineteen customers.
