following the announcment of to new models - the rs2000 gt and rs 2000 gts, melkus sportwagen has released the following press release and first pictures of the new car.
world premiere of the new melkus rs2000 models in monaco
melkus sportwagen gmbh will introduce the new melkus rs2000 gt and gts models as a world premiere from 14th to 17th april at the top marques in monaco.
both novelties are powered by a new powerful turbo engine. due to systematic lightweight construction the vehicle has a kerb weight of less than one ton. in conjunction with an engine output up to 350 hp, a performance on super sports car level could be realized.
the new gt and gts models
both new models have the engine of a german premium manufacturer. in addition to this, options which were available for an extra charge so far, have been integrated into the basic equipment. in comparison to the 300 hp gt, the top-ofthe-line gts model has 350 hp and includes also a carbon body- and interior kit. the basic equipment also contains the ap high performance breaking system, an oehlins adjustable suspension as well as further racing features.
performance on super sports car level
melkus sports car factory always strives to transfer the experiences from racing into the series sports cars. the powerful four-cylinder turbo engine with its cubic capacity of 2000 ccm generates up to 350 hp. in conjunction with the low weight of only 975 kg, this combination provides an impressive sportive performance. not only the top speed of almost 300 km/h (186 mph), but also the acceleration from 0-100 km/h, in 4.5 seconds with the rs2000 gt and in 3.9 seconds with the rs2000 gts, is on super sports car level. for an aerodynamic improvement, the experienced melkus-engineers developed a lightweight body kit which also results in a more aggressive appearance of the gts model. in addition to front spoiler and rear wing, a new diffuser and air guides at the side made of carbon are included as well.
furthermore, as from now a sportive adjusted automatic dual clutch transmission with paddle shift is also available. this enables very short shifting times, almost without interruption of traction.
equipment / individual adjustment of fully equipment in series
as unique feature, the basic equipment of every melkus vehicle equates almost full equipment. for the desired colour, the customer can choose between countless unicolour and metallic paintings without any additional costs. air conditioning system, navigation system and rear view camera are included as well. with free choice of colour for leather trim, seams, trim panel velours and quilt pattern, melkus sets further standards with regard to customizing the basic equipment. there are also many possibilities referring to racing specifications for tailoring the car to the customer´s wish. thus, in the melkus factory every vehicle can be considered as one of a kind.
base price for the melkus rs2000 gt is 122.000 eur (incl. 19 % vat), for the rs2000 gts 148.000 eur (incl. 19 % vat).
exclusiveness – real collectibles
despite the growing demand, melkus remains true to its principles with a limited production quantity of only 25 vehicles a year. the melkus rs2000 is one of the world´s most exclusive sports cars and fits in very well with the high quality of the range of luxury goods which are being manufactured in saxony. the related exclusiveness ensures the owners a stable valuable investment with chance of further increase in value. this is an interesting fact in particular for collectors.
