BREAKING! Austro Daimler Bergmeister ADR 630 Shooting Grand debuts next week at Villa d'Este
The year 2019 seems to be very special indeed. Brand revival projects are appearing like never before. Let’s remember Hispano-Suiza electric and supercar projects, already confirmed De Tomaso ‘Project P’. Now it’s time to introduce one more project. This time it comes from Austria.
The idea to give a new birth to the legendary pre-war marque Austro-Daimler comes from Roland Stagl whose aim is to build a modern interpretation of Gran Turismo taking inspiration from the iconic designs of the ‘20s and ‘30s. Embodied in a station wagon guise, the Austro Daimler Bergmeister ADR 630 Shooting Grand gives a hint at the flamboyant 6-cylinder model introduced in 1931. Only 50 examples of the Bergmeister have been built until 1934 and we believe that this spiritual successor will be made in similar or even more exclusive numbers.
The idea has been brought to life together with a German concept car building company Ideenion which already has experience with Audi Q8 Concept, Audi e-tron Quattro Concept as well as Apollo Arrow prototype.
The company has only released one teaser image showing the dark silhouette of the car with strong proportions. However, the world premiere is just around the corner. The car debuts next weekend on the shores of Lake Como at Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.
