Stuart Taylor Motorsport was a British kit-car marque founded in 1998 by Ian Gray in Ilkeston, Derbyshire. It manufactured kits and turnkey cars and supplied components, with an output reported at roughly several hundred vehicles. The first model, the MK1, was a one-off Sprite-style roadster on a spaceframe. The Loco, a Lotus Seven–type model, became the core product before production rights passed in 2007 to Aries Motorsport (as the Aries STM Loco). Stuart Taylor also produced the Phoenix from 2003—derived from Sylva’s Striker/Phoenix racing design—and continued to support competition-focused customers. Additional lines included the mid-engined, bike-powered Midtec Spyder (reworked from Midtec), the Pulsar sports-racer (originating with Midas/Brace/Pulsar), the ST-MX 11 1950s-style roadster using Mazda MX-5 running gear, and historic single-seater and F1-evocation projects.

The company pursued race-oriented engineering and high-fidelity recreations, notably the Honda RA302-inspired F1-67 and a life-size RA302 replica publicized in 2015. It traded independently and promoted services under the Stuart Taylor Motorsport/Stuart Taylor Racing banner. The marque’s active span ran from 1998 to 2025, with notable influence in UK kit-car circles and ongoing legacy through models whose rights migrated to other small manufacturers.
