Foulkes Developments Ltd was a British automotive manufacturer based in Dartmouth, Devon, that operated from 1981 to 1988. The company specialized in producing kit cars, with its most notable model being the Impala utility kit car. This vehicle was significant as it was the first British kit car to utilize the Fiat 500/126 as its foundation.
The Impala featured a simple one-piece fiberglass body mounted on a ladder chassis, which allowed for customization and ease of assembly. It offered optional weather equipment to enhance its usability. The design of the Impala evolved over time; early models were characterized by squared wheel arches, while those produced after 1984 featured round arches, reflecting a shift in aesthetic preferences.
In addition to the Impala, Foulkes Developments attempted to create a Ford-based 2+2 coupe prototype in 1987. However, this project did not progress to production and ultimately remained unrealized. Despite its brief existence, Foulkes Developments contributed to the niche market of kit cars in the United Kingdom during the 1980s.
