Beaver was a British manufacturer of kit cars that operated briefly in the mid-1980s and again in the early 1990s. The company was initially established as Kit Cars International in Barnsley, Yorkshire, from 1984 to 1985. During this period, it produced a distinctive estate-type kit car designed by Richard Oakes. This model utilized components from the Ford Escort, including the windscreen, doors, and mechanical parts, which contributed to its practicality.
In 1991, the brand re-emerged under the name Beaver Coach Works, located in South Woodham Ferrers, Essex. The vehicles produced featured a glassfibre body mounted on a steel chassis, maintaining the design ethos of the original kit car. However, the brand did not achieve significant commercial success and remained relatively obscure in the automotive industry.
