Fuqi Auto Works was an automobile manufacturer based in Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province, China. The company operated from 1989 to 1993, during which it produced a range of vehicles, including passenger cars and utility vehicles.
One of the notable models produced by Fuqi was the Fuqi FQ6400, which featured a plastic-bodied design. This model was available in both a four-door saloon and a five-door hatchback configuration. The design of the FQ6400 drew inspiration from the Daihatsu Charade, reflecting the influence of Japanese automotive styling during that era.
In addition to passenger cars, Fuqi Auto Works also manufactured cross-country vehicles and pick-up trucks, catering to a diverse market segment. Despite its brief operational period, the company contributed to the early development of the automotive industry in China.
