The era of streamliners is long gone, however passionate and creative people people like Canadian Zoltan Bod from Abbotsford, British Columbia try to reinterpret the forgotten ideas once successfully applied by such well known constructors like Paul Jaray, Hans Ledwinka or Edmund Rumpler to name a few.

Combining both environmentally-friendly propulsion system and futuristic bodywork, the Zoleco is a modern prototype example of a highly-exclusive 4-seater sportscar coupe.

Mr. Bod started this project four years ago, in 2007. Having aerodynamics and efficiency in mind he began building the first prototype of the car. Since then it took approximately 1000 hours of work to create the first full-size example. The first Zoleco will be powered by a 3-cylinder turbocharged engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. According to the builder this combination will be good enough for a consumption of just 2.57 l /100 km (91.4 mpg) at 105km/h or even 1.57 l / 100 km at 72 km/h.

The car built around a tubular space frame will feature a carbonfibre an aluminum body panels. Zoleco was first shown at Classic & Custom Car Show in April and was even featured on Daily Planet of Discovery Channel.

For this moment, there are no word about an estimated price tag or production figures, but Mr. Bod is looking for the investors and intends to build the exotic 4-wheeled* Zoleco spaceship for celebrities, passionate enthusiasts and symphatetic customers.

* Zoleco is a 4-wheeled automobile. Its two rear wheels are so close to each other that it makes it look like a 3-wheeler.
