2010-08-18 Legendary Lancia Stratos is coming back

The legendary Lancia Stratos originally designed by Bertone and produced from 1972 until 1974 was manufactured in less than 500 examples. However, this car has become a true rally legend, iconic car which is highly sought-atfer nowadays.
The rumours of the Stratos return started in the beginning of August with the first spy shots of the mysterious coupe resembling Fenomenon Stratos concept car from 2005.
Currently, it is known that the car has been privately comissioned by a German businessman Michael Stoschek. The new Stratos is said to be desigend by the Jason Castriota, who's currently working with SSC, and is being developed in conjunction with Pininfarina.
The New Stratos, as it is named, is based on a Ferrari 430 Scuderia and utilizes full carbonfiber bodywork enabling the car to achieve high-level power-to-weight ratio of only 2.25 kg/hp and a 50:50 weight distribution.
For this moment, the New Stratos exists in a single example and a limited production of 25 exampels is still under consideration. The technicals details are not announced yet, as well. The car is said to make its premiere in November. More details are coming soon.
