2018’s Most Exciting Motors

The end of 2017 going into 2018 is set to be an exciting and changeable time for the motor industry. The launch of automation, focus on green-friendly technology and improved driver amenities mean manufacturers are scrambling to adapt.

The old designs are still persevering, though, with manufacturers like BMW improving well-proven models even as the years knock on. With that in mind, here’s a rundown of some of the most exciting cars we’ll be seeing going into 2018.

General Public Motors

Manufacturers are focusing on the everyday consumer like never before, given the upturn in sales following the upturn in the economy. The result is affordable and fantastically designed vehicles that are for the consumer, not just high-end purchasers of vehicles. Chief amongst them is the latest iteration of the environmentally iconic Toyota Prius, which Gearheads featured in a 2018 cars roundup. Combining excellent mpg and ever-improved design, the Prius is becoming an affordable and excellent option for everyday car users.

Bugatti Veyron 2015

Yes, 2015. You read that right. The abandoned 2015 iteration of the Bugatti Veyron has been rebooted for 2018 and has produced a fantastic piece of design engineering surrounding a 1000 horsepower engine capable of topping 250mph.

The Veyron was never a car with a simple interior, but Bugatti have taken that to a new level of functionality and luxury, too. Taking in latest innovations in stereo systems and driver technology, Bugatti have once again set the benchmark for ultimate luxury.

The prohibitive factor is, of course, the price tag - at €1.12 billion euros, it’ll be prohibitively expensive to all but the most cash-laden glitterati. Make sure you take the chance if you ever get the opportunity to see the vehicle in action, though.

2018 is set to be a promising year for SUVs, too. There have been a proliferation in excellent off road and four-wheel drives with many manufacturers pumping money into creating new lines. One of the stars among this new class are Volkswagen, who have taken on board the critique they received as part of the emissions scandal and produced an affordable, powerful and environmentally friendly SUV, as reported by the Irish Times.

The 2017 edition has produced a fantastic halfway SUV that is only set to improve with the 2018 edition.

Car makers have once again found their groove, creating excellent new designs in every category - from everyday vehicles, to futuristic supercars, to environmentally SUVs. If you’re looking to make a new purchase you may find a great quality new vehicle. Or if you’re an enthusiast, there’s plenty to get excited about.
