First appearing at the 1962 Paris Salon, the car generated much admiration for its exquisite proportions. The 50‘s and ‘60s - a golden age of artisanal custom-built cars may be well gone into the history books and museum artifacts. Nevertheless, there are still enthusiasts passionately remembering those old days when talented engineers had their cars designed, manufactured and tested with no aid of computers of state-of-the-art technologies which are so common today. In those days, engineering had components of long-term experience, know-how, learning by doing and testing as well as intuition for physics and dynamics. Those skillful individuals built sculptural automobiles which are highly admired and much appreciated even today when a half of century has passed.  A desire for beauty and speed, a nostalgia for the golden age of custom-building have resulted in many guises during decades.  Read more »

This is Elemental. A new road-race car is about to be uncovered this weekend at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. However, before a global premiere, a previously teased sportscar was unveiled virtually with further details being published by this British company.The automobile which is named RP-1 features a carbon structure ensuring both light weight and strength as well as under body aerodynamics. Thanks to the feet up seating position, the center of gravity has been pushed as low as possible, as well.  Read more »

A Turin-based UP Design is teasing a new concept car. You may remember this small Italian studio by their first model – the sculpturesque Vittoria sportscoupe presented a couple of years ago. Now Umberto Palermo is making a world premiere of a new model – the Lucrezia four-seat luxury sports sedan.It will be next Wednesday – 25th of June – when the car will be uncovered at Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile “Avv. Elemental RP-1 will debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed

A specialty car niche of lightweight track-oriented roadcars is on the wave now. With recent launches of new models like Mexican VŪHL 05, Canadian Magnum MK5 or a British Zenos E10 this section appears to be the most promising one. A newcomer to join the range is named RP-1 and now it is being developed by a newly established company – Elemental Cars – based in Surrey, UK.This is set to be a track-focused road-worthy sportscar envisioned by John Begley – a skillful engineer having past experience in the development of the racing cars and supercars – McLaren F1, 12C and even P1 being in his portfolio. Stanzani - body division - and Ing. Dallara - technical division - Elio Zagato, first son of founder Ugo, proposed the construction of a 350 GT with a special body for Marquis Gerino Gerini, former F1 pilot.Zagato received a shortened chassis and dressed it with a light aluminum body with surfaces and volumes adopting the typical Zagato cut-tail: a solution which originated from the philosophy at that time for racing cars with a Zagato body and transferred with success to a more comfortable and well refined Gran Tourism car.  Read more »

1999 Vaillante Grand Defi goes for sale in Spa!

Among dozens of interesting and especially rare automobiles to be offered at The Spa Classic Sale by Bonhams we have found a very special example – an ultra rare French sportscar by the name of Vaillante Grand Defi.Based on another French sportcar of the past – the Hommell Berlinette – the Vaillante is a design product of the design studio AC3 which was located in Marseille and Nice in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The model debuted at the Paris Motor Show in 1999 and after then a very small quantity of them were made. Rezvani unleashes the Beast!

The Rezvani Beast is unleashed! A much teased new American supercar is presented for the world in a form of sophisticated CAD renderings. A proposed newcomer is a super lightweight speedster model is based on the British Ariel Atom.Unlike its technical donor, the Beast will utilize carbon fiber composite bodywork instead of exoskeleton structure. In order to accomplish the best manufacturing standards, Rezvani Motors teamed-up with California-based N2A Motors – an established creator of classic sportscars like the 789 and Anteros as well as partner for upcoming Trion Nemesis. It now will take 5-6 months to construct the body for the car which was designed by a former Lamborghini employee - Azerbaijan designer Samir Sadikhov.  Read more »
