eO company has issued the folloeing press release:Alternative motorsport company eO is creating a fully electric supercar to attempt a record breaking ascent to the Pikes Peak summit in Colorado, USA. The ambitious rookie entry at the world famous hill climb competition on June 30th will be piloted by the Baltic touring car champion Janis Horeliks.This year Pikes Peak is about to see the 91st gathering of daring drivers to climb the 20 km course to the summit at 4300 m above sea level. Over years, the entire length of the run has been gradually paved, bringing about the dominance of tarmac specification cars. The 2013 edition will feature an epic battle between the current record holder Rhys Millen, legendary Tajima Nabuhiro, aka Monster, and the 9-time world rally champion Sebastien Loeb in a 4×4 twin-turbocharged Peugeot 208.

Detroit Electric is a forgotten name of an electric vehicle manufacturer which was well established in the first half of the last century. Situated in the motor city – Detroit – this maker lived its life until the very end on the 30’s. In 2008, more than 70 years later, the marque was been revived with a straightforward objective to develop and build state-of-the-art models carrying the legendary name in the history of electric vehicles. A revived marque took 5 years for development of its first model which is about to be launched for public very soon at the forthcoming Shanghai Motor Show in China.The first model of the resurrected Detroit Electric will be a limited edition electric sportscar.

“Vehicles of Ultra- lightweight and High-performance” or simply VŪHL is a name of the newly launched company which is going to unveil its first model as soon as July 11th, 2013. The chosen venue for the global premiere will be the Goodwood Festival of Speed in UK – perhaps the most ideal place for the track-oriented supercar that the VUHL 05 is supposed to be.This all-electric high-performance model was conceived by Mexican brothers Iker and Guillermo Echeverria and was designed by their company Etxe. The VUHL itself is a new project for which such renowned companies like Magna Steyr, Multimatic (already known for their development of Korean/Canadian de Macross supercar) and even Ford joined their efforts. It is not surprising that the 05 will be a real multinational product partly developed in UK, Canada and finally assembled in Mexico.

A new electric all-electric microcar from Germany will debut at the Geneva Motor Show in a couple of days. Entitled Colibri, this red bird will be a single-seater vehicle powered by 24kW motor which will let it fly a maximum distance of 110 km at a fine top speed of 120 km/h. The manufacturer – Innovative Mobility from Jena - says that 6.5kWh batteries will be chargeable in 2 hours using a household outlet. This superlightweight vehicle will be only 440kg heavy and will feature incredible dimensions like a total length of just 2.

Maltese company Silex Power has just announced they are developing a super high performance all-electric fastback sedan. Entitled Chreos, the car is supposed to go into production sometime in 2015 and will be a luxury and much capable vehicle.The manufacturer claims that the Chreos will utilize both latest technologies and will feature classic retro styling - all in one. However, estimated specifications still sound unrealistic and too good to be true. Silex Power says that their machine will be as much good as a true supercar in terms of power, acceleration and top speed.

A new electric supercar is about to emerge in a period time of just one week. Named Volar-E, the model comes from a Spanish automotive engineering company Applus+Idiada which has been selected by European Comission last year to design and build a high performance electric vehicle.Jointly developed together with the main partner - Croatian company Rimac - the Volar-E prototype has been created in a record time of approximately just three months. It will feature lightweight carbon fiber bodywork, tubular chrome-molybdenum chassis as well as Rimac's batteries. In addition to that the car will integrate a 4WD system with regenerative braking which will enable the Volar-E to save and recover energy.

Venturi has presented the production version of the America sportsbuggy at the Paris Motor Show this year. Combining the best of sports models and off-road vehicles, the zero-emission model is powered by a 220kW, 400 Nm electric engine which enables the car to accelerate up to the maximum speed of 200 km/h.A specially developed 53kWh lithium-ion polymer battery pack is said to be good for a maximum speed of 300 km at a constant speed of 90 km/h. The America model is indeed an elegant Fetish with more muscles and capabilities. A doorless vehicle which gives unique experience both on- and off-road will be exclusively manufactured in France.
