Detroit Electric reveals final design of the SP:01

Detroit Electric has issued the following press release:DETROIT ELECTRIC REVEALS STRIKING FASTBACK DESIGN FOR ITS SP:01 PRODUCTION MODELDETROIT, USA – 27 October 2014:  The final exterior design of Detroit Electric’s all-new, pure electric two-seater sports car, the SP:01, is revealed today as the company gears up for production.The lightweight, limited-edition SP:01 will be the world’s fastest production electric sports car when it goes on sale in Asia, Europe and North America, starting in 2015. Revealed as a prototype at the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show, the design of SP:01 has been subtly updated to further improve the vehicle’s aerodynamic performance, ahead of the start of production at a new facility in the UK later this year.The most striking element of the design is the bold new fastback configuration, which replaces the prototype’s flying buttresses on either side of the rear window. The exterior design has been optimised using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis to provide enhanced airflow and reduce turbulence, for maximum performance and stability.  Read more »

A Shelby Dayton Coupe is no doubt one of the most sculpturesque automobiles ever created. Its dramatic appearance and performance has been heating blood for last decades. While some companies in the USA and Europe took a challenge to replicate this automobile in sublime or tragic quality, a new Californian company took one step back and two steps forward!Renovo Motors introduces their reinterpretation of the classic style and power icon at Pebble Beach this weekend. GENEVA 2014 - nanoFLOWCELL Quant e-Sportlimousine announced

A concept car known as Koenigsegg NLV Quant was first shown at the Geneva Motor Show in 2009. The main idea behind it was to create a luxury high performance solar-electric super sedan.  It was just a 1:1 scale model presented on the stand, however a year later a partnering Swiss company NLV Solar AG returned to the show and presented a fully-equipped futuristic Quant under their own name. The car featured huge gull-wing doors, carbonfiber bodywork with thin-film photovoltaic solar coating. It was to be driven by a 800hp, 1500 Nm power aggregate.  Read more »

Almost a half of a century has passed since the 17th of July, 1964 when Donald Campbell broke land speed record in the Bluebird CN7. A milestone of being the fastest person on the land was accomplished. Being a son of Sir Malcom Campbell who himself holds 13 world speed records in the 1920s and 1930s, Donald Campbell still is the only person who has set both world land and water speed records in the same year.In order to signify this unique and outstanding achievement, Don Wales - grandson of Sir Malcolm Campbell and a nephew of Donald Campbell is ready to return Bluebird name to the world motoring scene.
