The Suzuki R/P2, also written as スズキ R/P2, was a concept car shown by Suzuki at the 1985 Tokyo Motor Show alongside the R/S1, both concentrating on the brand's small-car specialty. The R/P2 was presented as a compact "super minicar for driving pleasure," taking the form of a two-seat Targa coupe with a roll-over hoop, flared sporty wheel arches, and a rear wing. Its front bumper featured an air intake flanked by large integrated round headlights.
Power came from a newly developed 796 cc three-cylinder engine mounted at the front, with double overhead camshafts, 12 valves, and a turbocharger fitted with an intercooler. No power output was disclosed for this unit. Drive was sent through a switchable four-wheel-drive system. Suspension consisted of struts at both front and rear, paired with disc brakes all round, and the car rolled on 175/50 VR13 tires.
The R/P2 measured 3430 mm in length, 1540 mm in width, and 1190 mm in height, with a 2130 mm wheelbase and front/rear tracks of 1310 mm and 1290 mm. Its target weight was set at 620 kg. As a show car, the R/P2 remained a concept and was not put into production.
